In this lecture, Thom Wall (Cirque du Soleil, author of Juggling: From Antiquity to the Middle Ages) and Benjamin Domask-Ruh (Associate Editor, Modern Vaudeville Press) uncover the ancient origins of what are considered "modern" circus techniques while discussing manipulation techniques, the challenges in uncovering ancient performing arts, and more!

THE KINETIC ACTOR AND PHYSICAL STORYTELLING

Led by Proboscis Artistic Director Jeff Mills, this workshop explores the elements of time, space, imagery, rhythm, visual musicality, play, and pure craziness as they apply to telling non-verbal theatrical stories, puppetry, mask, and solo performance.  Participants can expect to practice joyful, improvised movement (wear clothing that allows you to move freely!)

No movement or acting experience necessary!
